At Drone Scotland, we are strong believers in using the right tool for the right job. Hence, why we stock a wide variety of tools to help ensure that we can cater for a wide range of requirements. These requirements are probably best broken down to three categories:

  • Survey
  • Inspect
  • Media

Within each category there is a wide variety of more specific requirements – each will have it’s own set of deliverables. Therefore, we are constantly expanding our kit both in terms of hardware and software. The following is a breakdown of our primary equipment

Our equipment includes:

  1. Matrice M300 RTK including H20 (hybrid zoom inspection lens) and P1 (45MP survey lens) – industrial spec drone
  2. Phantom 4 RTK – 20MP mechanical shutter survey grade quadcopter
  3. DRTK2 – survey ground station
  4. Mavic 3 Cine – Apple ProRes cinema/broadcast quality UAV
  5. Mavic 2 Pro – 8/10 bit media drone with a 20MP 1″ CMOS sensor (backup to Mavic 3 Cine)
  6. Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual – enterprise drone with thermal equipped lens as well as detachable attachments
  7. Phantom 4 Pro – 8/10 bit media drone with 20MP 1″ sensor including mechanical shutter and upto 60FPS at 4K
  8. Mini 2 – sub 250g drone with 12MP lens – great for shooting in locations where other drones can’t
  9. Phantom 4 – our first and original drone which doesn’t get much airtime now compared to our more advanced fleet
  10. Panasonic GH5 – ground based still imagery and video camera with a variety of lenses
  11. Ronin S – handheld gimbal for use with the GH5
  12. Pocket 2 – highly versatile and compact camera that can be attached to people or vehicles
  13. Ground control points – help verify accuracy of RTK surveys
  14. High spec video editing/data crunching PC’s including industry leading software programs

But it’s not all down to the equipment you deploy. The skill of the pilot/camera operator is just as important. When we look for drone pilots to support our business we are interested in talent and not necesarrily the equipment. At Drone Scotland we are constantly learning and upgrading our skills to ensure we can deliver the best service to our clients.
