Our flagship UAV’s and the leader of the pack when it comes to industrial UAV hardware and Photogrammetry. Built to operate in harsh conditions, these drones can fly in climates as cold as -20C, high winds and even in rain. Normally weighing in at over 7kg, the M300’s can carry a range of payloads including a variety of cameras. At Drone Scotland, we equip our M300’s with the L1 H20 or P1 lenses.

With up to 55 minutes flight time, the M300’s can stay airborne for longer periods than most multi rotor drones. In addition, they have multiple inbuilt safety mechanisms including primary and backup sensors as well as dual batteries. Therefore, in the unlikely event of a systems failure, a backup system is in place to help ensure the safe return of the UAV’s. Unlike most quadcopters, the M300’s can even land with a single motor failure making this one of the safest quadcopters built to date.

The UAV’s boasts advanced anti collision sensors which are omnidirectional as well as being able to alert the remote pilot to nearby civilian manned aircraft. Add this to the professional training that our pilots undergo and we have seriously advanced and safe pieces of kit.

As the M300’s weigh more than your average quadcopter, they are capable of carrying large sensors. As mentioned above, our cameras provide us with the capacity to undertake highly complex missions. These include photogrammetry, LiDAR, complex aerial inspections and other topographical data captures surveys.

The onboard RTK systems, along with an active RTK connection, ensure the M300’s not only knows where they are but also provides survey grade data. Operating to within 30mm accuracy on the X & Y axis and within 50mm of the Z axis.

Zenmuse H20 Hybrid Zoom – For aerial inspections

The Zenmuse H20, when attached to the M300’s, allows the drones to zoom in as much as 200X. This makes it a highly effective drone inspection tool. Lossless zoom can be achieved at upto 23X. With it’s 20MP camera, the M300 can be operated 115m away from the point of interest and achieve the same data quality as a non zoom drone at 5m range.

Why is this important? Well, standard CAA Operating Authorisations limit drones, 250g and over, from being flown within 50m of uninvolved persons. CAA permissions gained after Dec 2020 are even more restrictive. A non zoom drone will struggle to capture useable drone inspection data at 50m. In comparison, our drones can operate safely at 20m and provide data equivalent of being 1.33 metres away. Add to that, the laser range finder and it’s RTK accuracy, the H20 can provide the end user so much more.

Zenmuse P1 – for Photogrammetry

The P1 lens is the industry leading drone survey and photogrammetry payload. With it’s 45MP full frame lens, fast shutter speed and rapid image capture settings, the P1 lets us fly higher and faster without reducing image quality. With the capability of capturing 3km² in a single flight, the Zenmuse P1 and M300 flight kit is the industry leading multirotor UAV for site surveying and photogrammetry.

Zenmuse L1 – LiDAR

The Zenmuse L1 integrates a Livox Lidar module, a high-accuracy IMU, and a camera with a 1-inch CMOS on a 3-axis stabilized gimbal. When used with Matrice 300 RTK and DJI Terra, the L1 forms a complete solution that gives you real-time 3D data throughout the day, efficiently capturing the details of complex structures and delivering highly accurate reconstructed models.

Zenmuse L2 – LiDAR

The Zenmuse L2 is the upgraded version of the L1. It provides a higher-accuracy IMU, 5 returns and upto 1,200,000 points per second. When used with Matrice 300 RTK and DJI Terra, the L2 forms take LiDAR surveying to the next level
