Founded in 2017, Drone Scotland Limited is a rapidly growing family run business. Based in Uddingston, we provide ground and aerial services across the UK. We are privileged to work with many of the leading construction companies of which many rely on Drone Scotland, solely, for their data. Due to continued growth, we are actively looking to employ an additional team member.

Remote Pilot/Surveyor

Working as part of a small dynamic team, the role will be very varied. You will primarily be involved in:

  • Operating a range of drones and accessories to capture survey grade topographical maps
  • Building and structure inspection
  • Processing data to produce outputs including point clouds, 3D meshes, orthomosaic maps, DTM’s, DSM’s, contour maps and more
  • Maintenance and management of any ‘kit’ that you use
  • Consultancy with our clients
  • Developing new skills & personal development

Additional, secondary responsibilities may include:

  • Operating drones for multimedia purposes (i.e., still imagery and and video)
  • Attending events/networking
  • Business development

Moving with the times, the role will be hybrid in nature thus you will work from our office, from your home and in the field. 95% of your working hours will be Monday – Friday. There may, however, be occasional need for working at weekends or staying away overnight. In addition, it’s not a strict 9-5 job. Instead we work when the ‘sun shines’ which means we may, at times, work longer days but, with the advantage, we may then work less days.

Who are you?

You are educated to honours degree in Surveying or similar (e.g. Civil Engineering). A fascination in technology is essential and drone experience is beneficial but not required. You find inspiration working both independently and as part of a team.

You have a can do attitude and an appetite to learn. As natural problem solver, you relish working within a fast paced and continuously evolving industry. Being intuitively risk adverse, you are very process driven and recognise the importance of placing safety ahead of all other priorities.

You hold a full and clean driving licence.
